Have you registered your small business yet? This is your final reminder that you only have until the end of June.
I am giving you the Heads Up to register for Small Business Saturday. This grass roots campaign is something I have supported and been involved in for a few years and something I have been banging on about to my fellow small business owners for at least the past two.
Its very simple, you register your small business, you will revieve a logo and a marketing pack, then join in on social media. Shout about what you will be doing on The Day. This year, The Day, is Saturday 1st December, I will hopefully be where I always am on the first weekend of December. At the Kirkby Lonsdale Christmas Fayre, a brilliant event with lots of entertainment and fabulous local producers.
But that’s not all, there are also a plethora of free events, talks and workshops designed to support you as a small business. Admittingly the majority are in London but some stray North. What you will be able to join in with is the Bus Tour, the SmallBizSsturday bus travels around the county, giving advice and support and generally being good eggs. There will be one near you, and if you want to take part in that you only have to contact them.
I did all of that last year, but I got the extraordinary extra of being one of the 100. SmallBizSaturday highlight 100 small businesses, one a day for the 100 days leading up to Small Business Saturday 2018. This is a chance to promote what you do and get seen by a wider audience, not only that but you may find yourself in the local and national press. It gets better, 20 of the 100 are invited to showcase their business and products at a reception in Downing Street, and I was one of them last year, an unforgettable experience, and one you can read about on my earlier Blog
Now, I know you are busy, I understand that this looks like just another thing to do, but trust me, make yourself a coffee and sit down for 20 minutes and register. You only have till the end of June to do this. The least you will get is activity on your social media channels, and at best, well, get out your best dress and head to the Big Smoke.
